Country 2 Country Festival (C2C)

Country 2 Country – C2C Festival 2023 – From Bush Hall to the O2 Arena, Lainey Wilson Brought The Fans Together with Her Homely, Emotional and Empowering Set – Live Review

It was back in 2018 during Country Music Week that Lainey Wilson first graced a UK stage. Opening up for Chase Rice alongside Jimmie Allen, Lainey proved even then just how successful she was set to be within country music.

From Bush Hall with a capacity of 400 to a 20,000 strong crowd at the O2 Arena during C2C Festival, Lainey put on a performance of a lifetime.

Wilson is as authentic as an artist can get. She is everything country music is all about! Her stories are relatable, her personality is witty and sassy and she is just so loveable and all of this translated beautifully on stage tonight.

Lainey told the audience how we, the UK were the first people to know her music and that it was the Bush Hall show where she heard people song her songs back to her for the first time. That just makes us more proud to see how far she has come and deservedly so.

A great sound from a tremendous band, a flawless vocal from Lainey despite losing her voice a few days ago, the setting and the atmosphere was just electric. With her signature Lainey look (Bell Bottoms) Lainey look sensational as always.

Wild Horses was wonderfully atmospheric. It soared through the O2 Arena making me feel like I was at an outdoor stadium show! I could even feel a breeze. The same is said for Wait in The Truck which had the crowd singing along in unison. The crowd stood for most of her set, soaking it all up!

Lainey belonged on that stage, she looked at home! Well you know what Lainey? You are home, you have a home here in the UK and always will!

Rolling Stone rocked the O2 arena.
What’s Up was a wicked cover. It suits country so much. As a huge 4 Non Blondes/Linda Perry fan, I frickin’ loved it!

Closing with her first hit song Things A Man Outta Know, Lainey left us in awe and wanting more!

Lainey’s set is going to be remembered for years to come. It was homely, emotional and empowering! She is a natural and her hometown of two hundred and something must be dang proud!

This is still just the beginning for Lainey, her career is only going to grow from strength to strength and we cannot wait to be a part of it!

A woman in country music did the damn thing y’all. Was there ever a doubt?
