Arbor North, Nashville-based country duo comprised of AC Jones and Michael Boris (of the former country trio, Lockeland), get ready to take off with their next single, Red Eye out now!

Written by Michael Boris and AC Jones, this fun, flirty, and funky song shatters the mold of the standard commercial country sound while still maintaining a radio-friendly catchiness.

Instantly catchy, this song reminded us of summer in Nashville and being in the heart of country music. It’s such a summer anthem that we will no doubt be playing this on every sunny day we get! Ok, so in the UK it isn’t that often but we will crank it up loudly anyway. This song is bound to get you in a good mood. It’s also one of those fun songs to play whist cooking in the kitchen as it gets you really motivated. Thanks to Arbor North and their Star Wars inspired You Tube videos, I think (now that I have bought the same cook book) that I will have to play this song whilst trying out those recipes.

“Anyone who has been in a long distance relationship knows that sometimes, you just have to drop everything and hop on the next flight to see the one you love. As having been in a long distance relationship ourselves, this song comes from a very personal place. Rather than writing a sad song about being far apart, we wanted to capture the energy and excitement that new love brings. Although it has been 8 months since our previous release (“Would’ve Met You Anyway”), behind the scenes, it has been anything but quiet. With “Red Eye”, we’re bursting into 2023 in a loud way.”

If it’s one thing you can expect from Arbor North, it’s the unexpected. Produced by Michael Boris and AC Jones, “Red Eye” soars onto the scene with screaming horns, slap bass, heartfelt lyrics, and crazy modulations. With a 14-bar musical interlude and two key changes, the production of this song aims to feature the artistic expertise of some of Nashville’s top musicians.
The horn section, consisting of Simon Yeh (saxophone, horn arrangement), Kevin Griffin (trumpet, horn arrangement), and Matt Jefferson (trombone), carries the catchy musical hook throughout the entirety of the song. Other musicians featured in the musical breakdown include Lee Turner (piano/B3 organ), Robert Williams (electric guitar), and Erik Coveney (bass). Additional musicians include Kyle Pudenz (mandolin), Jonathan Wyndham (acoustic guitar), and Arbor North’s own Michael Boris (drums / percussion).

Fusing country, rock, and a little bit of funk, “Red Eye” is that feel-good song you’ll be humming throughout the day long after the last note fades.

About Abor North

With northern grit and southern charm, Arbor North was the result of a divine appointment – decades in the making – that just happened to occur in the right place at exactly the right time. Michael Boris (of the former country trio, Lockeland) met country artist, AC Jones at a music industry event in Nashville, Tennessee in 2020. Later that year, over text messages, phone calls, and FaceTimes, the two began a long distance relationship which led to an “I do” on a beautiful Sunday in October of 2021. However, it wouldn’t be until almost two years after that first meeting that their musical paths would collide to create Arbor North. With a sonic landscape that combines modern country, rock, soul, and a little bit of funk coupled with lyrical content that is heartfelt and autobiographical, the duo strives to both write and self- produce music that is fun, memorable, and nostalgic.

Their debut single, “All the Right Mistakes“, was released in February 2022 with favorable worldwide reception. Furthermore, the music video for their follow up single, “You, Me, and Jesus”, amassed over half a million views on Facebook in less than a week of its release.

In August of 2022, they embarked on an international tour of the United Kingdom with performances at Millport Country Music Festival (Millport, Scotland), Nashville Meets London (London, England), and Nashville Sounds in the Round (Birmingham, England).

They have also opened for acts such as Chase Bryant and Shy Carter.
