The Wandering Hearts have come a long way since making their C2C debut only two years ago. From a side stage in 2017 to last year’s Festival Stage to a spotlight set this year in a packed 02 main arena to close to 20,000 people.
Signed to Decca before C2C 2017, the group has been to America as guests of Marty Stuart playing both the Ryman and the Grand Ole Opry. They smashed a UK headline tour, including a sell-out show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall and their Wild Silence album, now with a deluxe edition, has done exceptionally well. Throw in a Bob Harris Emerging Artist Award and several high profile festival appearances and you now have an established act with a large fan base.
The trio of Tara, Chess and AJ confidently played a mini set of three songs, backed by guitar and bass. Not fazed by playing to 20,000 people the group nailed their trademark harmonies and the strong vocals shone through.
They began with Fire and Water with the change-up ending, then the beautiful Burning Bridges with gorgeous harmonies and finished with a rousing version of Devil. The Wandering Hearts went down a storm at the O2 and how long might it be before we see these guys on the main C2C stage?
