BOWEN * YOUNG are a Nashville based husband and wife Folk/Country duo consisting of Clare Bowen and Brandon Robert Young!

If you are are a fan of the TV series Nashville then you will already be familiar with Australian singer/songwriter/actress Clare Bowen who played Scarlet O’Connor!

Brandon Robert Young is a singer/songwriter/actor who has appeared in the likes of Shameless and Nashville.

Bowen has one of the most extraordinarily stunning and somewhat innocent sounding vocals that will simply take your breathe away. 

Young’s vocals are delicate and emotive making the duo’s vocals compliment each other perfectly. The duo are a beautiful vocal match made in heaven as much as they are personally!

Opening up the Great Oak Stage on July 7th 2023 for Billy Joel, the pair entered the stage to a large crowd! A good energy from the start they began with their single Water to Wine which was just released this very day!

The duo shone on the main stage and the sound from Andy and Tom (the band) was fabulous!

Skeletons was next and Clare and Brandon were proving their worth up there with their exceptional harmonies.

“I have never seen this many people at once” Brandon said!

“A good songwriter friend of ours gave me some advice. He said if you dont have hits play someone else’s, so that’s what we’re going to do”.

With that Young began a cover of Beyonce’s Halo. Breathtaking vocals that blew you away, Brandon Robert Young has one of the most flawless and gorgeous voices I have ever heard. I could listen to him all day! With Bowen’s stunning harmonies, this cover was the masterclass of covers. Powerfully beautiful, I had chills throughout the song!

Bowen asks if anyone has got a hangover and if they did then “this is for you”. Playing the upbeat, deliciously folk heavy track Hair of the Dog, the crowd thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Another track played, one that had never played before was stunningly accompanied by the piano!

“This one is about that person who just makes you feel special” says Clare. “It’s called Aurora and Aurora means dawn”.

“It’s about being around someone that makes you feel like the best verison of yourself and I am standing next to mine”

Another beautifully folk infused song, Aurora was divine! Clare and Brandon are adorable on stage! They make you believe in fairytales.

Closing with another upbeat folk track, BOWEN*YOUNG’s set was over too soon!

Clare Bowen came to many peoples attention by her starring role as Scarlett O’Connor on the hit TV series Nashville! Scarlett was a fan favourite with her beautiful vocals, stunning songs she sung with character Gunnar and her up and down storylines which at times focused very much on mental health issues as well as complicated relationships!

Bowen first met her husband Brandon Robert Young backstage at one of her shows to rehearse a duet of If I Didn’t Know Better(From Nashville).

Young since then became part of the Nashville tour as well as having a cameo on the show itself (we won’t say what part in case you haven’t seen it, although it is revealed in our interview ).

Clare Bowen released a sensational debut album in 2018 and just a few short years later she and Brandon Robert Young formed the duo Bowen and Young.

So far, the duo have released only a handful of songs. Beautiful harmonies and melodic, dreamy tunes, each song is wonderfully impactful sonically and lyrically!
