Singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Bella White announces UK tour including Black Deer Festival

Singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Bella White has announced UK headline dates this summer, which concludes with a show at the Lexington, London before heading into Europe for Festival appearances. Tickets for the UK dates go on sale Friday 17th March, alongside the release of the forthcoming single ‘Flowers On My Bedside’ and will be available HERE.

The shows will be White’s first time performing in the UK and includes an appearance at Black Deer Festival in Tunbridge Wells. About coming to the UK White says, “I’m so excited to be coming to the UK/EU to play some shows. It’s always thrilling to be in a new (beautiful) environment and meet lovely people to share music with. I sing a lot about animals and flowers, and sheep have an honourable mention on my new record, so I’m looking forward to seeing many while I’m over there!”

The announcement follows the news of her new album Among Other Things, which will be released April 21st via Rounder Records. It is available for pre-order here digitally and on LP with speciality vinyl in Garnet and Tiger’s Eye via the artist’s website at http://www.bellawhitemusic.com

The album was produced by Jonathan Wilson and features Buck Meek of Big Thief on guitar and is an enchanting and deeply textured album encompassing elements of country, folk and indie beneath her deeply affecting voice and personal and intimate lyrics.

It features the latest single ‘Break My Heart’, which comes with a beautifully shot video and showcases White’s unique and charismatic style. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.

The new single is the follow up to two additional album tracks released late last year – ‘The Way I Oughta Go, and the gorgeous and reflective ‘Rhododendron’. The three songs together give the listener a sense of Bella’s remarkable writing and life-long-honed skills as a bluegrass player. This coming Friday 17th White will be release the new track ‘Flowers On My Bedside’. Pre-save here.

Bella White’s live performances are as captivating as her music – Rolling Stone recently took notice and included her in their ‘Best Things We Saw’ roundup of AmericanaFest. Ahead of her visit to the UK White will appear at SXSW and will also make appearances at major U.S. festivals throughout the spring and summer including Stagecoach, Merlefest, Under The Big Sky and more.

Calgary-born singer/songwriter Bella White made her mark on the scene with the release of her debut album Just Like Leaving. The LP caught the attention of Rounder Records which signed her last year. While traditional bluegrass originated in Appalachia, the genre has surely found a safe and loving Canadian home via her songwriting.

The 22 year-old shies away from modern and fussy arrangements, and instead brings a traditional style of music into the contemporary moment by personalising it to her own experiences. White has shown herself to be a star student of the bluegrass genre, with something new to bring to the table. Her ability to translate modern experience to an old sound is seamless and compelling and permeates the boundaries of a regional genre with authentic singing and songwriting.
