Although Morgan Evans has played the UK before a few times, I kept missing him do a full show. I was lucky to catch him on the Spotlight Stage at C2C before but never a full set. So, having the opportunity to see him on the Country 2 Country Festival main stage was the perfect opportunity!
Morgan was met with rapturous applause that was almost deafening and in the best kind of way. The UK fans love him! A friendly persona on stage, Evan’s smiled from ear to ear and engaged with the audience many times. There is something about Evans that is just so homely. He comes across incredibly humble on stage.
Morgan’s set was magical! You could feel how it meant so much to him to be adored and welcomed in the way that he was. Was it ever a doubt though? We are all about the music here at C2C Festival

He and his band played as if this was a performance of a lifetime. The atmosphere in the arena particularly when he played Young Again was something I can barely describe! It was just a wonderful moment, captivating – and for me it felt like the anthem of the entire weekend. That song hasn’t left my head! That feeling hasn’t left my heart since he played it. It was just such a dazzling sensation, a happy vibe that I think everyone probably felt. It’s beautiful the way live music can do that!
Kiss Somebody was upbeat and fun and the crowd really felt alive during this song. Taking to the piano, he played Over For You which was of course incredibly emotive. The heart strings kept getting pulled during the even more moving Things That We Drink To. This song was made to fill an arena! It’s sensational live and very atmospheric. That atmospheric energy built up even more when the band merged the song into Coldplay’s Fix You.

Hey Little Mama followed which had a fun beachy/surf vibe to it. The bright ocean themed backdrop helped with that vibe which made the show really energetic.
Closing with Day Drunk/Young Wild And Free (Snoop Dogg/Whiz Khalifa/Bruno Mars cover) the set ended on a massive high!
This may have been my first time seeing Morgan Evans live but it certainly won’t be my last. As I have mentioned in previous reviews of artists, the magic of live music can really make you love an artist. I did like Morgan’s music but seeing him live has proven that the studio version of Morgan just doesn’t do him enough justice!
That truly was an incredibly anthemic performance that I won’t be forgetting any time soon!
