Review:
Being a fan of The Wandering Hearts I wanted to support them in their first event as hosts for their Americana Residency and had to buy a ticket, a good bargain for £10.
They chose some great acts to kick start the first event with Robert Vincent, Red Sky July, and Fiona Bevan.
The event was backed by some great sponsors too. Many other British based bands and artists came to watch and show their support and help to make a great relaxing atmosphere.
AJ started the night as host introducing Robert Vincent and asking him questions in-between each song, providing the audience with some knowledge about the songwriting process and the songs themselves.
Each artist performed about 4 songs each, 3 of their own and then a cover song that they wish they had written, an inspiring idea from The Wandering Hearts.
After Robert Vincent’s amazing acoustic set there was a 10 minute interval before Tara took to the stage to introduce the brilliant Red Sky July, and ask them questions in-between each song.
After their set, there was another 10 minute interval before Chess came to the stage do her introduction and interviews with Fiona Bevan. This was the first time I had seen Fiona live and wow I was blown away by her performance, amazing songwriting and a voice of an angel.
This part of the evening finished at about 10pm and was then followed by a DJ set by AJ.
This was paused half way through as The Wandering Hearts took to the stage to perform 2 new songs, that will hopefully be on their next album, called ‘Gold’ and ‘Your Love Hurts’ both of which I adore.
Each artist brought their own merch to the event as well as Merch for ‘The Americana Residency’ which included badges, stickers and a T-Shirt. If you attend one of these events in the near future there is a competition where if you but a t-shirt you could win a guitar signed by the performing Acts.
Don’t worry if you feel you missed out on a great night, The Wandering Hearts will be hosting some more of these events in 2020, so keep you eyes peeled on their social media.
