C2C Festival 2019

Our CMA Songwriters Series predictions during C2C Festival week

Most of us who go to C2C Festival mostly look forward to what songwriters will be playing the CMA Songwriters Series. Every year it has been absolutely fantastic and becomes the highlight for many people.

With a high calibre of writers on the bill in the past, we can only expect it to be just as fantastic this year but who will be playing?

We have put together a few people who we think may be on the line up.

Ashley McBryde – If past C2C Festival CMA Songwriters Series is to go by then we will have a main stage arena act on the songwriters bill. With her popularity, her exceptional songwriting skills and ability to tell a damn good and entertaining story, it HAS to be Ashley.

Chris DeStefano – This may not happen as just been part of the songwriters series during Country Music Week but we would love to have him back.

Hillary Lindsey – Isn’t it about time that we had the third Love Junkie over? With writing with Lori McKenna and Liz Rose under the name The Love Junkies and being responsible for songs such as Girl Crush a whole load of Carrie Underwood songs and some Keith Urban tracks including Blue Ain’t Your Colour, surely she would be a shoe in? I really hope so.

Heather Morgan – Heather released her album Borrowed Heart recently and has had people everywhere sing her praises. As well as her own music, Heather has written for some pretty big names which included Keith Urban, Sara Evans, Brett Eldredge, Martina McBride, Maddie and Tae and Kenny Chesney. Heather would be the perfect choice and hopefully we would get to see her on the festival stages across the weekend too.

Josh Osborne – Josh Osborne’s songwriting credits are never ending and he would have some damn impressive songs to perform, in fact, with his stories he would make a good host of the series. Songs we could hear if he played could range from songs written with or for Kacey Musgraves, Sam Hunt, Chris Young, Old Dominion, Midland, Reba and so many more. We would be with songwriting royalty.

Luke Laird – a songwriter I have been wanting to see for a while now. Luke has been responsible for or partly responsible for songs such as Carrie Underwood’s So Small, Temporary Home and Undo It: Eric Church’s Give Me Back My Hometown, Little Big Town’s Pontoon (we had a hilarious story on this from Natalie Hemby last year and would love to hear Luke’s take on how the song went down): Kenny Chesney’s American Kids, Lady Antebellum’s Downtown and much more.

Josh Kear – Josh would also be such a great addition as is another very high calibre songwriter. Josh has been credited on songs such as Carrie Underwood’s Before He Cheats, Blown Away, Two Black Cadillacs and more: Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now: Labrinth’s Jealous (another one Natalie Hemby sang last year and made the whole crowds jaw drop) Dierks Bentley’s Drunk on a Plane and Women, Amen: Tim McGraw’s Highway Don’t Care: Darius Rucker’s True Believers and much more. Again, songwriting royalty.

Whoever plays we know we are going to have a great time and we cannot wait to hear the announcement.

Who do you want on the bill?
