After having seen Sarah Darling last year supporting The Shires at SummerTyne Festival I was so excited when she announced her first UK headline tour.
She was playing in Sage 2, an intimate venue which really suits her songs and pure vocal talent. Her set included a great mix of older songs, songs from her most recent album Dream Country and new music which I really enjoyed. I thought her new songs which included Shimmer and Diamonds were incredible and I look forward to listening to them all the time when they are released.
Sarah performed her new single Wasted which is such a lyrically beautiful song and she sung it amazingly.
I really liked the inclusion of a lot of songs from her most recent album Dream Country, my personal favourites included Halley’s Comet, Where Cowboys Ride and Stargazer. Sarah did a brilliant collaboration of her song Anchor with Tom Petty’s Wildwood Flower was a beautiful and fitting tribute.
Sarah Darling also included some older songs such as Home To Me and Little Umbrellas which were really enjoyable as they got the crowd dancing and singing along.
I really enjoyed the show; Sarah Darling’s songs are all beautiful as is her voice. She really shines in more intimate shows where the lyrics and her voice can take centre stage. At the end of the show Sarah stayed behind to meet the fans for photos and autographs, she is such a lovely person and I love this addition at the end of her sets.
