When Lady Antebellum announced their ‘You Look Good’ world tour I was desperate for them to announce UK tour dates so I was ecstatic when they announced this leg of their tour. This tour definitely didn’t disappoint.
Brett Young started the show off and was incredible. His acoustic, melodic songs filled the SSE hydro. His single ‘In case you didn’t know’ was a highlight of his set, I love the song and was so happy to hear it live. His rendition of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ was amazing and had the crowd singing along with him. He finished his set with ‘Sleep Without You’ his first number one single, this is one of the most well-known of his songs and was very well received by the Glasgow crowd.
Kelsea Ballerini was the second act on stage, starting with her first single ‘Love me like you mean it’. She filled the arena with such an amazing energy which stayed with her throughout her set. During her set she did songs from both her first album ‘The First Time’ and her upcoming album ‘Unapologetically’ which I thought was great because I could sing along to all of the songs I know as well as hearing new longs like ‘Roses’ and ‘I hate love songs’ for the first time.
She got all of the crowd involved with ‘XO’ which I thought was great as it got the audience who didn’t know any of her songs to sing along. During her performance of ‘Peter Pan’, she got everyone to put on their torches and light up the arena, it was an incredible moment during such an amazing song. ‘Legends’ was incredible as she did it acoustic, it really showed off her incredible voice along with the beautiful lyrics.
Lady Antebellum then took to the stage, starting their set off with ‘Downtown’ from their album ‘Golden’. This was a great song to start on, it got the audience dancing and singing along. Their set was amazing, including songs from their new album ‘Heartbreak’ as well as lots of songs from previous records. Their set was filled with lots of upbeat songs which everyone was dancing to such as ‘American Honey’, ‘Bartender’ and ‘You Look Good’.
They also performed ‘Hurt’ which was sung beautifully and really showed off their amazing vocals. Another highlight was when they brought Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young onto the stage to sing a cover of Shania Twain’s ‘You’re Still the One’. This was such an amazing moment and had the entire crowd on their feet singing along. Their encore started off with probably their most well-known song: ‘Need You Now’ which I couldn’t help but sing at the top of my lungs. They finished with a beautiful tribute to Tom Petty singing ‘Learning to Fly’.
The entire night was incredible, all 3 artists were phenomenal. I would love to see all of them in concert again soon!!
