After an epic performance earlier in the year at Country 2 Country Festival at the O2 Arena, we didn’t think it would be possible to top that performance but were proven wrong today at Hyde Park! Supporting Shania Twain on Sunday 7th July, King delivered a show so contagious that fans were already discussing if she had her own tour that they could attend. King definitely needs to bring a headline tour to the UK soon!
A headline worthy set, Elle King has a voice so raw and authentic that those who hadn’t heard her before were stopping in their tracks to listen. Rocking the country scene for the day, Elle had fans line dancing, singing along and absorbing every moment! The sun was finally out after a few days of heavy rain and Elle King certainly helped brighten up the place with her performance! People were, to put it simply, just having a good time and good times is all what Shania Twain fans are about so Elle King was a perfect support act!
Songs like Ex’s and Oh’s proved extremely popular but King’s energy throughout her set was on fire and had it been pouring down with rain, I doubt anyone would have even noticed. The band were rocking the joint and the atmosphere was electric and proved that the energy for the rest of the day and evening wasn’t going to slow down!
Playing songs that included some from her sensational album Come Get Your Wife, Elle King’s sassy performance knocked it out of the (Hyde) Park. Drunk (And I Don’t Want To Go Home) which she released with Miranda Lambert was an absolute banging performance. What a crowd chanting moment and a beautiful sound to be a part of!
If there’s anyone to get you in the mood for a good time then that’s Elle King! She made us all feel like we were drunk and we didn’t want to go home!
Hope she comes back soon!
