Review by Georgette Brookes
Elle King really is the Queen of grungy blues and her set at the O2 arena, London for Country 2 Country (C2C) Festival, delivered nothing less than her signature style.
Taking to the stage in all black and slick sunglasses, King delivered a crowd-pleasing performance that had fans on their feet. With recent events firmly behind her, she rocked out to the unmistakable chords of ‘America’s Sweetheart’ and her multi-platinum ‘Ex’s and Oh’s’ – a song that catapulted King to the top of charts in a variety of genres.
King treated fans to a Stevie Nicks cover, ‘Stop Dragging my Heart Around’ which echoes King’s sound and went down a treat with the crowd across the O2. She had the electrifying energy of ‘Tulsa’ alongside the more relaxed, bluesy ‘Love Go By’, demonstrating her true talent.

In the absence of Miranda Lambert, King brought upcoming Spotlight artist, Lily Rose, to the stage to sing ‘Drunk (and I Don’t Wanna Go Home)’ for which the crowd really came alive.
There’s no denying that Elle King gave the UK C2C Festival fans everything she has, leaving behind a solid fanbase that would love to see her back across the pond sometime soon.
