It’s been about a decade since Colbie Caillat was last here in the UK. Having recently released her debut country album Along The Way, she has always been an honorary country artist. Caillat had her own country act called Gone West and has worked with the likes of Taylor Swift (Fearless), written with some of Nashville’s finest writers and more recently collaborated with Sheryl Crow on her Along The Way Album.
Country has always been in Caillat’s bones and that is why she has been one of the artists that Country 2 Country (C2C) fans have wanted to see the most this weekend. Colbie was part of the much loved CMA Songwriters Series on Thursday night giving many fans what they have wanted for a very long time and that was for her to play Bubbly live, which she did.
Tonight, on Saturday 9th March 2024, Colbie Caillat took to the Spotlight Stage inside the O2 Arena, London for the second day of C2C Festival.
Starting with her hit Bubbly, the acoustic version live was spectacular and really nostalgic. Her second song I’ll Be Here in which she sings with Sheryl Crow and is from her new album Along The Way has been one of the highlights of the whole weekend for me. It sounded so good within the O2’s acoustics. The song is the best kind of catchy and simply quite brilliant.
Closing with the uplifting and energetic Brighter Than The Sun, it was really sad to have it be over!
With only a ten minute slot as all Spotlight Stage acts have, Colbie delivered a performance so strong that it had main stage worthy status.
It’s clear that Colbie Caillat has a home here in country music and we cannot wait to see her again at The Long Road Festival.
