British Summertime (BST Hyde Park)

Little Big Town will be joining The Eagles at BST Hyde Park. Why we think their fans will LOVE them!!!

British Summer Time at Hyde Park has always been a friend to country music. In the past we have seen The Shires, Ward Thomas, The Wandering Hearts, Ryan Kinder, Sarah Darling, Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, Eric Paslay and so much more. These acts all received glowing reviews from event goers and have proven themselves to country music skeptics that country music is so much more than its somewhat bad reputation it sometimes gets.

Little Big Town are one of the best country music acts out there. Grammy Award winning artists as well as multiple Country Music Award winners, Little Big Town are more of a Vocal Group than just a country band. Little Big Town’s music is so diverse that they should cater for pretty much everyone going to see The Eagles. A group that have been together for over 20 years with no line up changes, 2022 will mark the 20th Anniversary of their debut self titled album. In their career the group have released music that is timeless and we hope there will be a strong set list to showcase that career.

If you are new to Little Big Town we urge that you take a listen – here is our playlist of what we think newcomers to the group will like and of course some of our favourite tracks of theirs.

Whilst I am not a fan of comparing artists to others I do like to find qualities of those artists that I think fans of other artists will enjoy. For example, if you like artists such as Fleetwood Mac then Little Big Town should be right up your street. There is no real lead singer in LBT and each vocalist is strong and thoroughly enjoyable to listen to and collectively, LBT have some of the most beautiful harmonies you will ever hear.

One of their strongest albums in our opinion is The Reason Why. Every track on that album is sensational with no hint of pop country at all. Little Big Town have such a talent to merge into modern country and blend that with traditional country, Folk, Blues and Pop that it’s a case of, is there anything this group can’t do?

More importantly, this is a live act you will never ever forget! Songs that you will likely walk away downloading immediately will be Girl Crush, Boondocks, Little White Church, Better Man (Taylor Swift penned) , Tornado, Pontoon and more!

So who are Little Big Town? Well there are four of them and they all share vocals. We have married couple Jimi Westbrook and Karen Fairchild and whilst all four do share the vocals and I have said that technically there is no lead singer, Karen Fairchild does do the most vocals. Her strong and deeper vocals add such a rich tone to the group and when she sings with her husband Jimi it is a true “meant to be” vocal match. (Check out Your Side of the Bed.) Kimberley Schlapman is as sweet in personality as she is in vocals. Adding a rootsy country tone, she has one of the most beautiful traditional sounding vocals ever. Another sweet addition but this time in the name, Philip Sweet adds a more rockier tone to the group.

This is a group not to miss. They will undoubtedly blow your minds. LBT will give you a show that will make you want to see them live over and over again. We are so incredibly pleased to have them on this already sensational line up and we cannot wait for more additions. How did we get so lucky?
