CMW - Country Music Week

Country Music Week artists who should not be missed

This October brings the first ever Country Music Week in the UK which will feature some of the finest artists in country music as well as some of the most up and coming, rising stars who will be great to catch before they start to blow up the country music scene.

With many shows sold out including the raw, talented Kip Moore, the illustrious Drake White and the phenomenal Little Big Town – we also have some well established and in my opinion 5 star rated artists that should not go a miss.

Temecula Road

Some may have caught up with Temecula Road during this years C2C Festival and if you did, you would have seen that they are a delightful young trio with a fun bubblegum pop-country sound and killer harmonies. Dawson, Emma and Maddie who make up Temecula Road have influential personalities and a highly strong likability that draw you to them in a instant. Songs such as What If I Kissed You and their current single Hoping have a fresh, young yet mature quality with catchy moments that are very enticing. In a live setting, this trio are all round entertaining not just musically but in their stage presence. Dawson will as always, have the crowd in the palm of his hand with his charm and wit and the three of them will leave you wanting more and feeling like you want to be a part of their world.

Twinnie

For me, one of the UK’s hidden treasures. A prime example of UK country being on par with the US, Twinnie should certainly be on your list to watch. This year has brought a lot of exciting news and experiences to the singer/songwriter with recently being signed to BMG and being sought out to join Bryan Adams by the man himself at Cornbury FestivalTwinnie has been spending much time in Nashville writing with artists such as Lucie Silvas, Brothers Osborne, Jon Green and many many more. Twinnie released her debut EP last year with her sensational singles Home and Cool and has been part of the Under The Apple Tree sessions as well as performing at C2C Festival, Cornbury and many more. Twinnie is partly responsible for songs such as Black and White and First Flight Out on The Shires records and has a voice that live, makes you stop in your tracks.

The Wandering Hearts

A group I wish were more involved in the week but so far are just supporting Marty Stuart which of course is a once in a lifetime opportunity – The Wandering Hearts are one of the UK’s newest sensations with music that is so beyond brilliant that I am starting to run out of words as I have written about them often. A vocal group that are a blend of Little Big Town and Abba, this group have so much to offer and will blow you away in a live setting with their vocals alone. With an album set for release early next year, their two current songs Wish I Could and Devil show just a small incite to what an astonishing group The Wandering Hearts really are and having heard a large part of their live set before, you will not be disappointed on the standard of songs.

Jillian Jacqueline

Probably one of my most favourite recent female artists in US country music. Jillian to me is the new Maren Morris with a huge artist following and large industry respect, Jillian has a quality to her that is unmissable. Having never seen her live, I am very excited to catch her during Country Music Week. Jillian has just released her EP Side A which is a collection of beautifully crafted artistry in the form of country ballads, country pop and R&B infused tracks.
