Today, multi-talented singer, songwriter, and activist Randy Savvy of the Compton Cowboys released his latest single “Nuthin To Drank” – listen HERE.
Produced by Joseph Ginsberg, “Nuthin To Drank” is an instant ear catcher and a fun country anthem!
The track is the best kind of infectious. In a live music setting, Nuthin To Drank will undoubtedly get the crowd up from their seats and moving whether it be to warm up a crowd or to close out a headline show! Outside a live setting? Well you won’t regret cranking it up loudly on a hot day in the back garden or in the car with the windows rolled down! The song has a beautiful ability to make you feel both relaxed and in the mood to get up and dancing!
With C2C Festival in full swing in the UK right now, Nuthin To Drank is the kind of track we want to be hearing at all the after parties where people will definitely find something to Drank.
Country music blended with hip-hop/rap stylings are thriving in the country genre right now and we can’t get enough of it! It’s artists like Randy Savvy who are going to open the eyes and ears of so many people who wouldn’t necessarily consider listening to country music before. This is why blending genres should never be frowned upon. Many rock fans for example are finding country music thanks to the likes of artists such as The Cadillac Three and Brothers Osborne.
Savvy has also released an accompanying video for the track. The video was filmed in Nashville, TN and directed by DirektorGayle – watch HERE
Last month, Randy released “More Reason To Pray” – listen HERE and watch HERE.
A track that is incredibly moving, More Reason To Pray tells of the hardships of every day life. Relatable lyrics speaking of things such as wasting life on the phone and spending your last dime on a beer, Savvy’s words are of self awareness and having an appreciation of life and a different perspective on faith and humanity. The track serves as a source of strength and healing for Randy’s Los Angeles neighbors in the wake of the devastating Palisades and Eaton Fires earlier this year, and other communities and people experiencing pain along their life journey.
The Compton Cowboys recently teamed up with Forever 21 for a special limited-edition collaboration in honor of Black History Month, blending Western influences with urban streetwear style while celebrating their inspiring story and the profound impact they’ve had on the Compton, CA community. The collection successfully captures the spirit of the Compton Cowboys and the essence of “Street Country” – named after Randy’s musical and aesthetic style. The Forever 21 x Compton Cowboys Collection is currently available in all Forever 21 stores and online.

About Randy Savvy
Randy Savvy, a dynamic force blending hip-hop culture with the rugged cowboy lifestyle, is a rapper, activist, and storyteller whose artistry channels the essence of West Coast rap, fused with a guitar-driven soundscape that feels right at home in a John Wayne classic. Born and raised in the heart of Compton, Randy’s roots run deep in the Richland Farms neighborhood, home to one of the few remaining Black family-owned ranches in the U.S. It was here that he developed his passions for music, horseback riding, community, and the timeless cowboy hat — all while carrying a mission to preserve and amplify the legacy of Black cowboys in America.
In 2017, Randy co-founded the Compton Cowboys, a group of childhood friends from Compton who use music, horseback riding and equestrian culture to improve their inner-city community. As the group’s leader, Randy plays a crucial role in mentoring youth, teaching them self-confidence, leadership, and a connection to their heritage. “Be Alive,” Beyonce’s opening song for the 2022 Academy Awards broadcast, began with the image of a single horse and rider flanked by the Compton Jr. Equestrians, a result of the Compton Cowboys work with children.
Randy’s talent caught the attention of one of Compton’s most iconic figures, Dr. Dre, who produced Randy’s debut single, “COLORBLIND” in 2020. This collaboration marked the beginning of Randy’s solo career, leading to the release of two EPs, Late Night Ride and CAPT, followed by Long Haul in 2023 and a few singles in between. The Compton Cowboys have been at Stagecoach for the last 4 years and in April 2024, Randy made his Stagecoach performance debut.
Most recently, Randy produced the equestrian elements in Beyoncé’s historic 2024 NFL Christmas Day halftime show, casting Compton Cowboys and several other prominent riders local to LA. “More Reason To Pray” notably marks Randy’s first release since “Booted Up” released last November, and “Remind Me Of The Rodeo” released in August 2024. He is currently in the studio finishing up his next project.
