Forecast to rain most of the evening, Shania Twain made the sun come out for her BST Hyde Park performance!

A fun filled day for country music fans and beyond, there was something for everyone music wise. Shania Twain fans aren’t necessarily country music fans so BST Hyde Park were quite wise in their choosing of a mix of genres artist wise.

Whilst Elle King is on the cusp of country rock and blues, other acts included pop sensations Natalie Imbruglia, Anne- Marie and The Corrs. A sea of pink cowboy hats and leopard print outfits, everyone was ready to Rock This Country From This Moment On!

A big build up to her set and an inspiring atmosphere from the start, the crowd went crazy for the intro of Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You). That intro with the fiddle really got the vibe going and we all knew we were in for one heck of a good night!

Hit after hit, the show was on fire for the entire set! You can’t not sing along obnoxiously loud to songs such as I’m Gonna Getcha Good, Any Man of Mine, Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under, Honey I’m Home, That Don’t Impress Me Much, (If You’re Not In It For Love) I’m Outta Here and Man I Feel Like A Woman! All those songs form a special bond with audience members and before you know it you’re arm in arm with your neighbour fully embracing every moment! It always seems like a celebration of life at a Shania Twain concert! Her performances, her music are somewhat of an escape from the real world and you honestly live in the moment!

The ballads always hit hard on an emotional level. The sheer beauty of songs such as From This Moment On and You’re Still The One prove the level of artistry Twain is at and that her music will always be timeless. Live, those songs are magical and you could feel every note! Possibly due to Shania not being that well, her acoustic version of You’re Still The One was slightly shortened. What a treat though to witness Shania on the guitar performing the song acoustically!

With Canadian Country star Lindsay Ell as part of her band for this tour, it was great to see the guitar sensation play up front and be highlighted for the song Party for Two. Ell has a solo show at the Omeara in London tonight (July 8th) which will be well worth going to.

Closing with two bangers (which we previously mentioned ) (If You’re Not In It For Love) I’m Outta Here and Man! I Feel Like A Woman, the show was over so fast but Man! It felt so good to be there!

After hearing negative comments about Shania Twain’s set at Glastonbury Festival, it was wonderful to discover that her vocals and sound were on top form for BST Hyde Park despite having a cold! Never judge an artist by one performance and always give them a chance! Shania Twain is an absolute superstar on record and on the live stage! Her band, her staging, her lighting, her sound all delivered a top class performance and we walked away at the end absolutely buzzing!

BST Hyde Park may be a large venue but it really is a special place for an event! No view is particularly bad and the Gold Circle was safe and spacious and we partied at the back having the time of our lives. Plenty of food options, more than any event we have ever been to, we were spoiled for choice!
