Angel White could be heard all across the outskirts of the O2 arena and Greenwich Peninsula, London as his soulful sounds were carried by the winds. White played various shows at Country 2 Country (C2C) Festival including the Big Entrance Stage on Saturday 9th March 2024 which is located outside.

Angel White and his audience were blessed with sunny weather which only the next day was full of rain. A handsome crowd, White played to his listeners as if he had been playing in front of them for years.

White brought something different to the C2C attendees. A generous amount of country but blended with a strong case of western soul and tainted with blues-rock, Angel White delivered a steller set that left his audience completely mesmerised and thirsty for more.

Songs such as the smokey, hypnotic and emotional Red Blanket (about his late Grandmother) left a stain as the beauty and authenticity in his live vocals, words and music was something to hold on to. Long Way Up delivered a gorgeous blues-country vibe. Villain brought a Texan feel to London and it was more than a pleasant feeling to be in the company of a more classic artist who brings a radiant and timeless, soulful sound to the country genre. As a new fan myself, I couldn’t name all of the songs performed but can say that each song was exceptional and captivating.

Angel White is one of the most exciting, brilliant and refreshing musicians in any genre at the moment.

If his live performance and already released music is anything to go by then Angel White’s forthcoming album Ghost of The West is undoubtedly going to be a show-stopping masterpiece.

We can’t wait for Angel White to return to the UK soon and perhaps with a full band so that we can experience that soulful sound with an edge of funky bass and jazzy, electric rock!

Either way, we would just be happy to have him back because his solo performance was phenomenal on its own.
