BST Hyde Park have been massive supporters of country music for a number of years now. With every headliner announced, you can always be confident that country music will find its way on the line up whether the headline act is country or not.
In the past we have had support from Cam, The Chicks, Brittney Spencer, Bowen*Young, Ryan Kinder, The Shires, Ward Thomas, Megan McKenna, The Wandering Hearts, Morgan Wade, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real and so many more!
The country element brings such a wonderful atmosphere because the event isn’t solely country so it is always wonderful to see new fans of country music being born right in front of your eyes. All those stereotypes get washed away and BST Hyde Park attendees have known that Country Music was cool way before Beyonce released Texas Hold’Em.
This year, we were already confident that country music would find its way on the line up somewhere but are absolutely ecstatic that there are TWO country music headliners in Shania Twain and Morgan Wallen but also with Stevie Nicks being a headliner, it’s very likely that her day will have some country music acts too.
So who do we think will be on the British Summer Time Hyde Park line up this year for those three acts??
We already know that The Corrs are supporting Shania Twain. Whilst they aren’t country, they are still a great addition.
Lindsay Ell is very likely to be on Shania Twain’s day! A fellow Canadian Country Music artist, Lindsay Ell has recently announced a headline tour in the UK surrounding those dates and she has supported Shania Twain previously. It can’t be a coincidence her timing for playing here. Americana singer/songwriter Gabe Lee is also over here for some dates in July and he basically a gap on July 7th so can we hope he may be playing on Shania’s day? He is in Liverpool on the 6th and then Bristol on the 9th so who knows?
Will Morgan Wallen bring over his support acts that he has in the US this year? If so, we may see Nate Smith, Jelly Roll, Ella Langley, Bryan Martin, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson and Lauren Watkins on the line up! Lauren is currently at C2C this year so it’s a possibility that she will be back! I have since been told Jelly Roll apparently can’t enter the country!
Bailey Zimmerman is also out with Wallen in the US but he has a show in the US on July 5th so it is unlikely to be him plus he is over here soon no in May. Lainey Wilson is in the UK in April so will she be back so soon? She does have a gap in her tour schedule.
It’s hard to say who may be on Stevie Nicks day! She will likely have more of a mix of genres and I am hoping for Vanessa Carlton even though she isn’t country.
We will definitely see some UK country back this year I believe. With The Shires coming back after a break they would be a great addition. It would be nice to have Ward Thomas, Megan McKenna and The Wandering Hearts back too. I would love to see Demi Marriner getting her dues on Stevie Nicks day, she would be very popular with Nicks fans.
US country artist Kelly McGrath plays BST Hyde Park almost every year so she may well be featured on any of the line ups and I predict Stevie Nicks day.
It would be great to have Irish Folk act Kingfshr back too on a bigger stage especially as they are making waves in the music industry at the moment! They were very well received supporting Bruce Springsteen last year!
Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real also have a gap in their tour and they are due a return. They would be great on any day but would fit right in on Stevie Nicks day for rock and country fans.
Who do you think will be supporting on these days or who would you like to see play?
