Josh Taerk ‘Stages’ EP release: February 2nd 2018 – Touring the UK this month

Josh Taerk is the most exciting new talent I have come across in years. He blew me away with his presentation and song writing abilities. I’ve known, and played with, a few singer/songwriters in my time, and I can tell you-Josh Taerk has what it takes”
Max Weinberg (drummer with Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band)

Josh Taerk, a Canadian singer-songwriter who has been compared to the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Ed Sheeran and The Wallflowers, will be bringing his signature blend of rock’n’roll – Americana to UK shores in the new year, along with new tracks and stories from his upcoming EP ‘Stages’.

Since opening for Max Weinberg in New Jersey, performing with him at Summerfest to pay tribute to the late Clarence Clemons of The E Street Band, and joining Max onstage as a special guest on his most recent tour, it’s been nothing but up for Josh – with tours across the UK, US and Canada, the release of two studio albums, and radio play across The US.

A knack for writing moving songs to memorable melodies and infectious arrangements”
Maverick Magazine

On his new EP ‘Stages’, Josh wanted to “honor the artist I am now and show the progression, my experiences and growth from ‘Here’s To Change’,” his previous album. “That’s how I see all these songs, they’re snapshots of the person I was at the time I wrote them, and a snapshot of the moment that lead me to that song.”

Teaming up with producer Teddy Morgan (writer, producer and guitar player for Kevin Costner & Modern West), Josh co-wrote ‘Learning To Let Go’, the first single from ‘Stages’. A rocky-Springteenesque anthem that “makes anybody want to drive their car with their windows rolled down” (Paste Magazine), ‘Learning To Let Go’ is about “letting go of the need to control how things play out, and living in the possibilities of right now.” EP closer, ‘Neverland’ is a gentler ballad, drenched with electric guitar solos that wouldn’t be amiss from a Jon Mayer hit. “Baby you’re my Neverland” sings a love-struck Josh. “Love is passion, it’s surrender, ecstasy and bliss. It’s the greatest high you will ever hope to feel, and takes you places you’ve only dreamed of going,” comments Josh on his inspiration behind the song.

Cleanly produced, radio friendly Americana”

Josh’s songwriting is fixed on relatability and reality, and has been picked up by the likes of R2 Magazine, who commented that “Taerk writes hook-laden songs and pens literate words that focus on the stuff that makes us all tick,” in their four star review of Josh’s first and self titled album. He also garnered masses of support from UK press during his two UK headline tours, with the Sunday Mirror, Maverick, R2 and Get Ready To Rock labelling him as one to watch for the future in their reviews of 2015 record ‘Here’s To Change’.

It’s not only his studio records that have received praise. With the high energy of his live show, Josh was named one of the “Top 5 Live Acts” of 2015 by Get Ready To Rock. Josh is excited to return to the UK on his 2018 tour stating: “It’s like coming home. The UK was where I cut my teeth as an artist and performer. It’s where I developed my sound and learned what it meant to put on a show. My live show is what it is today in large part because of my experiences in The UK, and I can’t wait to be back.” His live shows are going to be “focusing on the songs off Stages for sure, but I’ll also be playing some select favorites from previous releases.”

Josh’s lyrics are assured, his lyrics hit the spot every time, and his musical accompaniment is sublime throughout this album”
