UK country/rock artist Katy Hurt is back with a sassy, no-nonsense anthem in her new single, “Rather Be,” out today (March 7th). Packed with confidence, classic country humour, and fearless energy, this fiery track is a bold statement to anyone, boss or boyfriend, who underestimates you—the kind of thing you wish you could say out loud but never normally do.
In keeping with the traditional sounds of country music rather than being tempted by the modern pop crossover sound, Hurt is a rare artist that will appeal to a wide audience of country music fans. The songs use of traditional instruments is impressive with a slick guitar solo. Katy’s vocals are as exquisite as ever with her powerful range and insane rock tone!
Co-written with Gab Zsapka, recorded at Stereobus Recording in Winnipeg, and produced
by Juno Award-winning Murray Pulver, “Rather Be” delivers girl power with an edge,
proving once again why Katy is one to watch.
The 7th single from her highly anticipated and upcoming debut album, following on from the great success of “Seasons” featuring Joey Landreth, which was released on January 24th and has been featured on Apple & Amazon official playlists and was single of the week on Absolute Radio Country.
