Having released her second album ‘Speed of Sound’ earlier this year (produced by Dan Navarro and GRAMMY winners Jim Scott and Ryan Hadlock) Jesse Lynn Madera has now released her latest single from the album titled No Place To Shine. Much like the album in its entirety, No Place To Shine is a stunning track that showcases Madera’s breathtaking and country toned vocals.
With the album having a range of Americana and country melodies, No Place To Shine falls more into the country genre and wonderfully so! Its upbeat melody is instantly infectious and the way Madera’s vocals soar are beautifully dramatic and equally fun! The lyrics are relatable but in a way that you can look back at your own experiences as a youngster experiencing relationships for the first time with a bit of a smile and even learn from them.

Madera says, “I’m making fun of my younger self in this song. I was reckless, self-indulgent, and selfish at times when it came to boys. This song paints me as the fool, but it’s also so fun to sing. It takes me back to one summer night in Houston, being out with friends and looking across the way realising that the boy who’d been following me around all the sudden had no interest in me, and I had no place to shine. Does a teenage girl exist when no one is admiring her? It was the first one I tracked at Bear Creek with Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Brandi Carlile). I added some small things at Plyrz studio with Dan Navarro and Jim Scott (The Chicks, Tom Petty) just to fill it out a bit and make it flow with the rest of the album.”
The song and the album are out now!
