BST Hyde Park: Stevie Nicks – Live Review

The announcement of Stevie Nicks playing a headline show at BST Hyde Park was probably one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the year and when it came to the actual evening, she did not disappoint!

An almost sold out show full of hardcore fans, the atmosphere was amazing throughout the course of the day and the evening. Acts such as Nina Nesbitt got the festival going with her stunning music and fun-loving personality. Full review here.

For us, the addition of Brandi Carlile was extremely exciting! Playing the show of a lifetime, Carlile was beaming with joy throughout her set and it was clear just how much this show meant to her. Hyde Park marked her biggest audience yet and she seemed overwhelmed by the amount of people who actually knew her music! The Story was an incredibly moving moment for us and the rawness and passion of her vocals within that song was powerful.

Nicks brought the energy to an even higher level with her well known and much loved music across the years including her Fleetwood Mac days. Songs such as Edge of Seventeen of course were met with huge applause and much singing along but a highlight for us was the epic Gold Dust Woman. The song has beautifully dark elements to it which translate magically within a live setting and create an incredible atmosphere. Each note was perfect against the mild breeze across hyde park.

Bringing on special guest Harry Styles was for us unexpected (maybe not to others) and a real show stopping moment that we were very fortunate to have been in the audience for. His presence in the song Landslide was moving and fabulous and a really emotional moment for both Harry and Stevie.

Stevie Nicks vocals are still as unique and sensational as ever and the entire show was phenomenal! Fantastic playing from the band, the entire evening was highly memorable and a real “I was there” moment!
