The Streets of Liverpool were scattered with various Taylor Swift art murals covering all the eras which were part of a stunning and quite fun trail for Swifties to find! Buildings and lamp posts had Taylor Swift banners, her music was playing loudly out of speakers all across the city and even food such as bagels were named after her! Liverpool had become Taylor Town. This is the impact this once small town girl who grew up on a Christmas Tree farm now has on the world!

Known for being Music City (The UK Version), Liverpool is the home of The Beatles so it’s only fitting that the one artist who is deemed as big as The Beatles should play at Anfield Stadium for three sold out nights!

Breaking records as having the highest number of people in the stadium ever, it’s astonishing to witness the amount of swifties now since seeing her in Shepherds Bush Empire back in 2009. Even her low billing set at V Festival in the same year had easy access to the front which was surprising as even then, Swift was absolutely mesmerising to watch.

Swifties are some of the most respectful fans you can ever dream to be a part of, especially in a Stadium full of tens of thousands of people. The first night in Liverpool on the 13th June and marking her 100th show, we were pitch standing this time and despite arriving at 7pm, we still managed to secure a great spot and with plenty of space around us. I was skeptical about standing for that long but the pitch standing atmosphere was amazing. You get a different view and a different experience from wherever you sit or stand around the stadium but that’s why the staging is so big, it’s for everyone!

There’s something beautiful about a Swiftie crowd! Fans enjoy admiring other fans very thought out outfits and exchanging wrist bands with Swift’s song lyrics or song titles on them! The energy is unmatched at the eras tour. This is a tour that everyone wanted to go to so everyone who was there fully appreciated it. Dad’s who took their children were proudly wearing Dad Swiftie t-shirts to support their children and if they claimed not to be a fan prior to the show, you can believe they were afterwards.

Watching the screens with videos of Taylor Swift leading up to her set gets everyone in the mood and you know the moment you hear Lady Gaga’s Applause, that the countdown is about to begin. No concert has ever had such a build up to the opening before. A whole crowd screaming 13 down to 1 and then roaring cheers!

A 3 and a half hour concert covering all the eras (apart from debut and as a OG Swiftie, I was a bit sad) there wasn’t a song Swiftie’s didn’t know! The Lover era, which began the set, set the bar high from the get go with Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince into Cruel Summer. Cruel Summer’s epic bridge sing-a-long moment has become one of the most loved parts of the entire Eras tour. The Queen of bridges, the whole show was full of those crowd chanting moments which were beautifully emotional and something each and every person in the crowd could feel! The Man was as strong as its meaning and those lyrics alongside Swift’s impressive and influential power moves of her Taylor’s Versions will always prove what a great role model she is!

There’s something ‘bout the way, the Fearless era is when played, in a live show! The throw back to her little skips and holding up her guitar was nostalgic but I loved even more the love and the screen time for Paul Sidoti, Amos Heller and Mike Meadows. The Agency were always such a huge part of the early shows. I still miss Caitlin, Liz and Grant though! Fearless, You Belong With Me and of course Love Story was quite the moving moment and reminded us of just how far she has come. Those songs still stand the test of time but her level of success now is mind blowing! It’s not just how far she has come in terms of songwriting (I would still argue some of her early work is her best) but how much she has improved as a performer. I loved the early eras of awkward dancing and goofy speeches but now, her dance skills are on point and she has truly become an exceptional all round performer. She does it with ease but you know that it would have taken a lot of hard work.

Red was one of most funnest parts of the show and a time to fully let go and embrace your inner Swiftie. Songs such as 22, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble were exciting and for many, a flashback to their school days! All Too Well of course was a phenomenal moment with its ten minute version. The song went by so fast but those extra bridges and verses are truly special.

The Speak Now era only gave us Enchanted! Swift shone in her stunning ball gown and the night was sparkling! Sass came in the form of the Reputation Era and the crowds and stands went wild as soon as the snake hit the screens. Ready For It is meant for a live setting. The bass vibrates through the body and the entire stadium was bouncing! Delicate was delicately powerful with its hauntingly beautiful “isn’t it, Isn’t it, Isn’t it” moments that echoed across the stadium. Look What You Made Me Do was one of the moments focused more on the dancers and deservedly so as they each stood in a glass cabinet dressed as a different era of Swift before she announces the real Taylor can’t come to the phone right now because she’s dead.

A favourite part for many was the folklore and evermore era. The folklore cabin causing a stunning visual effect, it’s also one of the eras in the show where Taylor’s vocals truly shine as it’s more stripped back with less dancing! In this era, she wears some of the nicest outfits too! cardigan was mesmerising, betty felt like we were invited to storytime and champagne problems on the gorgeous folklore piano replaced the breathtaking piano ballad moment we always remember the Red tour for with All Too Well. august hit different in a live setting and showcased just how great that song is and it flowed perfectly into the highly emotive illicit affairs close. Every fan felt the passion in those words as they did for my tears ricochet. majorie was atmospheric and made us all miss our grandparents or someone close to us and willow was bewitching!

1989 was monumental! Those melodies, those 80’s styled sounds soared across the stadium and beyond. Style transformed on stage, Wildest Dreams was sensational and of course Shake It Off was one of the best “guilty pleasure” moments of the evening!

The Swifties knew every word to every song even from new album The Tortured Poets Department. Despite it being an album of only a few short months, each song was so fantastically captivating live that it felt like we had been singing these songs with her for years. But Daddy I Love Him, Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me and I Can Do It With a Broken Heart particularly had a massive impact. TTPD had one of the best staging and visual effects of the night. It was very impressive and saw Taylor wheel around the stage rather swiftly!

The surprise songs are always one of the most eagerly anticipated moments of any show and the most talked about part! Liverpool night one got I Can See You/ Mine and Cornelia Street/Maroon. We guessed Mine would be coming by the infamous hook! Cornelia Street however was a song we thought we’d never hear again. An absolute gem from the Lover album, how lucky we were to have been a part of the stadium crowd that night and it mashed perfectly with Maroon.

Closing the show with the Midnights era, we were not ready to say goodnight! Anti-Hero was staggering and one of the last truly connecting moments between fans and Swift in the show! Bejewelled made the whole place shimmer and Karma put the breeze in our hair.

The staging was fabulous and the large T Stage meant every fan could catch a glimpse of the star. The times that the stage elevated was very much appreciated for us shorter fans in the audience. The choreography, the band, the dancers, the lighting, the back drops (screens) every detail was top form and played a huge part in making the eras tour what it is! Taylor’s voice never sounded better, she’s a natural on stage and shows no fear! There’s just something about her that is really warming, she’s just such a joy to watch live. Everything from her steps, to her skips, to her crowd glances and silly smiles is simply loveable. The way she talks to the audience as if we are old friends makes her fans eternally dedicated and her dedication to her fanbase and giving them what they want (and even knowing what they want as she knows us just as well as we know her) is really special and unlike any other fan/artist relationship.

It may have been three and a half hours but it flew by! If and when it rained, no one cared and many of us didn’t even notice! You’re too busy having fun! When you attend the eras tour it’s then that you realise just how iconic and magical every single song Taylor Swift has is! Her flare for drama and natural appeal is addictive. She connects with fans like no other artist ever has. Somewhat of a genius, is there a better songwriter out there? The eras tour not only marks her level of success but marks how much of a hard worker she is. It’s that hard work and first hand involvement in every aspect of her career which helps set her apart from any other singer in the world! Her career will last because of it. Taylor is proving women can rule and stay in the music industry and her work ethic is inspiring. Having been to Murrayfield Stadium In Edinburgh days before and in seats, I can truthfully say that no two shows are comparable. In fact, just the surprise songs makes Swifties (myself included) want to go to every stop on the tour.

Liverpool’s Anfield was a great venue that didn’t feel overwhelming! The staff were helpful and professional and we felt very safe! We didn’t feel crowded in the general standing area and it was easy to go to the bathroom and get drinks from the staff walking around offering cider! We didn’t even have to leave the main arena to get drinks and the toilets were right but the arena so you could at least hear the music!

The Eras tour will go down as being one of the most celebrated, cherished and iconic tours in history! It will be the most missed, the most ‘fear of missing out’ events to date. It’s very much a “I wish I was there” or “It was rare, I was there” moment. People will remember it all too well and talk about it for years to come!

If you have children or will have children some day, point to the pictures, tell them her name and tell them how the crowds went wild! Swifties will relive the eras tour by watching the movie on Disney+ over and over again!

We were wonderstruck, crying all the way home! And Swifties will spend forever wondering if she knows, we were enchanted to be there!
