Sold from the epic Jazz/bluesy intro, Austin is an incredible lead single for what will undoubtedly be a mind-blowing album which is released later this year and titled Speed of Sound.
A blend of country-rock, blues-rock, Jazz, Americana and a touch of gospel which is simply beautiful, Austin is incredibly powerful both vocally and sonically. Madera has a way of telling stories with such incredible emotion and passion that she really pulls in the listener. Jesse Lynn Madera has a voice that needs to be heard, she has such a remarkable range that can likely suit any genre. The impact the instrumental segment has in this song is highly compelling. In fact, the entire production of this song is superb and certainly makes us excited to hear the album upon its release.
Madera penned this song whilst reflecting on a time when she was a teenager in Texas, sneaking out on weekends to go hang with a Texas A&M vet student who had captured her heart. The producers said they set out to capture that energy of the teenage Jesse running wild.
Austin is produced by Dan Navarro (Lowen & Navarro) and Jim Scott (Tedeschi Trucks Band and Wilco).
Born in West Virginia, her musical journey started early, influenced by self-taught musician grandparents. She developed her rich interior world through cross-country moves during her childhood, leading to early songwriting.
