This year at The Long Road Festival one of the sponsors of the weekend were Solo Stove. Heavily featured across the festival, the fire pits were lit up and ready to use for festival goers all over the VIP section which was certainly welcomed throughout the evening! Festival goers were comfortably sat in their seats, gathered around the smokeless fire pit enjoying the sounds of live country music in the cosiest way! It’s the secondary burn on top of the pit that filters out the smoke! It’s a very clever design!

Whilst he isn’t country music, Snoop Dogg (who we are big fans of) has partnered with Solo Stove with his very own range and as a fan myself, it’s very tempting to get one but it has sold out!!!!! It did look awesome though!

But, we already have a solo stove, so let’s talk about the one we have and how we use it, what we enjoy about it and so on!

We have the Bonfire 2.0. It’s huge and beautiful!!! When it arrived it was like Christmas already! It sits beautifully in a portable bag which makes it very easy for transportation. With it, we have a few accessories such as the bonfire stand which is a must. The stand gives you the power to use your fire pit on most heat sensitive surfaces. Use the stand to enjoy your fire pit on your deck, grass, and other turf. However, NEVER leave your fire pit unattended. Even with the stand, please ensure your surfaces can handle high temperatures! Make sure you check out the fire pit bundles as many include the stand and you may find you are saving money buying a bundle rather than individually or opting to buy it later as a separate item!

It also comes with a new removable Ash Pan.
You don’t need a special tool to clean your fire pit. Bonfire’s new, removable ash pan rests under the removable base plate, catching all that fine ash in one place. Just lift the base plate to remove the ash pan, clean out its contents, and that’s it!

We also have the roasting sticks. These are perfect for toasting marshmallows and making smores. They are nice and sturdy and long enough so that you don’t risk burning your hand, we even found it safe for the kids to use under supervision. The prongs allow for the marshmallows to sit on each prong firmly and as it is so long, just sit back and relax until the marshmallows are to your gooiness likeness.

It’s a real game changer and a great social tool. Our Solo Stove sits beautifully on our patio whilst looking out into the valley across the way! We will be inviting our kid’s friends and our friends over for some smores and O’Donnell Moonshine/Mulled Wine fun and hopefully in the summer, should we add the griddle, we can start to have BBQ’s too. It honestly just makes us happy and gives us something fun to do with the kids even if it’s just an after school toasted marshmallow session! The fact that it is smokeless too really makes a difference! As an asthmatic, I always struggled with bonfires/fire pits and it also makes me feel safer about having the kids near it! The lack of smoke also means the neighbours don’t get annoyed and if using in the summer whilst your washing is out, then they don’t get smelly!

It really is simply lovely and especially in this cold weather! It’s calming, it’s fun and a great family evening in the cosiness of our own back garden. I have had fire pits before but the smokeless effect makes all the difference! It’s so bright and beautiful and nice to just keep warm by! I am not a keen camper but plan to be. If I can bring this along to some campsites then it’s certainly making it more appealing!

What we definitely want to add to out stove;

Bonfire Cast Iron Griddle Top + Hub. We LOVE a BBQ! We have just made a lovely patio in our garden but have missed out this summer as work was still being done! However, as soon as that sun starts shining we hope to have this addition to our stove and start cooking up a nice BBQ! What is so great about this is that it looks like you can cook a wide variety of goods on it. So if you go camping where you are authorised to bring along your own camp stove then this looks perfect as easy to transport too!

We would also like to try out the bonfire shield. With kids, this is such a great option for peace of mind. After toasting up some marshmallows, families can still gather around the smokeless fire. It keeps sparks contained while taming your flame with Shield’s 304 stainless steel design.

The bonfire Lid I feel is something we definitely need as a family! The lid provides all-purpose utility to your fire pit. It contains leftover ash and embers as an overnight safeguard or can convert your fire pit to a modern tabletop. This would be particularly helpful on camping nights out or toasting marshmallows in the garden and having to make a swift exit! I will definitely review this and the other additional items we want if and when we get them!

Colour Packs! These look amazing and make the flames all colourful! Simply throw a pack into your flames, and watch as the vibrant colors come to life within seconds. Each pack burns for an hour of uninterrupted fun.

Do check though that when you go to festivals or camping sites that you are permitted to bring it along. If not, then enjoy it in the garden as much as you can.
