BST Hyde Park: Unmissable Country Artists Support Bruce Springsteen on Saturday July 8th 2023

BST Hyde Park have been championing country music artists for years now by having an amazing range of acts as support on their line ups.

Throughout the years they have brought to their stages artists such as Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Eric Paslay, Cam, Little Big Town, Morgan Wade, Ryan Kinder, The Shires, Ward Thomas, The Wandering Hearts, Megan McKenna and more!

This year we are pleased to see that support continue across various line ups but mostly on the Bruce Springsteen dates.

The Chicks have been announced for both Springsteen dates for a while now (6th & 8th July) and of course they need no introduction. Formerly The Dixie Chicks, The Chicks will undoubtedly shake up the crowd with their own likely headline worthy set with classic tracks and new! Expect Gaslighter tracks as well as hits such as Travelin’ Soldier, Landslide, Cowboy Take Me Away, Goodbye Earl and more!

Whilst The Chicks are one of the most notable names in country music, it is well worth checking out some of the other artists on the line up whether you consider yourself a country fan or not!

Brittney Spencer is fast becoming one of the most celebrated rising stars in country music. After an epic performance at the O2 Arena at Country 2 Country Festival in March 2022, we can’t wait to see her at BST Hyde Park.

Bringing soul,R&B and gospel to Country in the perfect blend, Spencer is an exceptional vocalist. Spencer is a must-see act and will undoubtedly be a firm favourite for BST attendees.

Emotive, passionate in her vocals, Spencer has a string of stunning ballads as well as more upbeat, fun lovin’ tracks. We hope to hear a hundred years old, better as friends (awesome bluegrass guitar picking in the song), Damn Right, You’re Wrong, Sober & Skinny, Thoughts and Prayers (which should really appeal to Springsteen fans) and hopefully we will hear her cover of The Chicks’ Cowboy Take Me Away.

Former American Idol contestant Sam Barber should be right up your street if you are a fan of blues/country/rock. Dancing In The Sky in particular is a favourite for us. It is a bluesy/gospel rock song and Barber’s gravelly vocals really excel on this track. Barber is one of those artists that truly soars in a live setting and will fit perfectly in that open aired summer show that is BST. If he plays Drowning and has the banjo and fiddle playing like they do in the studio version, then I think that may well be a highlight for us. We love good use of instruments in music and Barbers music showcases traditional country instruments very well.

Becoming somewhat of a tradition at BST Hyde Park, Kelly McGrath is definitely part of the BST family.

McGrath has some beautiful songs out! We adore You and Me Today! It’s such a beautiful melodic tune and is underrated! The chorus is stunning and compelling! This song doesn’t get the credit that it deserves, it’s one of our favourite country songs in the last decade! Listen to her EP Kites here. It’s a brilliant collection of fine tunes.

We hope to hear new music as well as old. Country fans must check out her set!

UK artist Kezia Gill has made a huge impact in UK country music. Impressing, sorry I mean blowing the socks off of every audience she plays in front of, Gill is an unmissable powerhouse! A wonderful storyteller, you will feel like you and Kezia are old friends by the time she leaves the stage! House on the Hill will have fans in awe, and Smokey will have fans ready to rock the day/night away as it’s the perfect warm up tune for Springsteen!

These are artists that are already favourites of ours. There are a few other acts we plan to check out too but are going to go in blind for the element of surprise.
