The impressive singer-songwriter Sharrie Williams from Michigan brought London’s 100 Club to life in London Blues Week.
Supporting Sari Schorr and backed by her own guitarist and Schorr’s bassist, drummer and keyboardist on Hammond organ, Williams delivered a set filled with quality blues and soul.

Kicking off with Hard Drivin’ Woman she moved helter skelter into the gospel classic Come Go With Me and a funky I Don’t Know What You Come To Do. The emotional Crazy For You from her Hard Drivin’ album and Out Of The Dark were standout tracks of the set.
This was a soul blues masterclass from a seasoned professional. Williams showed her class and awesome vocal power on the slow blues The World Is In Trouble. She finished with the fast-paced gospel Travellin’ with enthusiastic call and response and received a rapturous reception.

Williams is a performer out of the gospel school, she knows how to work an audience, is equally at home with blues and soul and gives a fine show. Catch her on her next trip over if you can.
