Lindsay Ell has gone through different phases before finally finding her voice in her new single ‘Waiting on You’. The single really shows off Lindsay’s unreal guitar skills as well as her beautiful voice.
The song itself starts with a distinctive, bluesy guitar melody and is very upbeat and cheerful. The line ‘I’m not talkin’ ’bout no diamond rings, White picket fences, those forever things’ really sums up the main theme of the song, a girl just waiting for commitment.

The video is simplistic but effective with two main focal points, the first being Lindsay Ell in a warehouse on her guitar with the other being her male love interest in a wood panelled room playing vinyl records. The shot focused on Lindsay shows off her guitar skills really well, featuring the colourful guitar which she hand-painted for this song as she has done for all the songs on her upcoming album ‘The Project’.
I haven’t listened to much Lindsay Ell music before her newest EP ‘Worth The Wait’ came out and I was so impressed with it. The songs go so well together and her voice sounds amazing on all the tracks. I can’t wait to hear her first album ‘The Project’ which is set to be released on August 11th. One of the songs I am really excited to hear is ‘White Noise’ as it was written by Kelsea Ballerini along with Josh Kear and Ross Copperman.
Overall I really love the single! Lyrically I think it’s spot on, her vocals sound amazing and her guitar playing takes centre stage and is given the space to shine. I can’t wait to hear more music from Lindsay Ell in the future.
