Millport Country Music Festival 2017 – featuring The Shires, Mark Chesnutt, Ashton Lane, David Ray, Morgan Frazier and Adley Stump.

The 23rd annual Millport Country Music Festival is shaping up to the best yet as we welcome Nashville artists and the cream of UK country music to the beautiful Isle of Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde, less than 10 minutes’ ferry ride from Largs, Ayrshire.

The Festival will run from Friday evening, 1st September 2017, through the weekend until late on Sunday the 3rd, featuring many country and tribute bands, together with the Grand Parade on the waterfront at 2pm on Saturday 2nd, line dancing, children’s entertainment and much more.

This year sees the addition of a huge concert venue marquee, situated adjacent to the existing Core Festival, with concerts for 3,000 people held on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons/early evenings, featuring The Shires, Mark Chesnutt, Ashton Lane, David Ray, Morgan Frazier and Adley Stump. MC’d by Radio 2 and Chris Country presenter Baylen Leonard.

Recently signed to Big Machine in Nashville and fresh from the success of their latest album, ‘My Universe’, THE SHIRES will headline the Saturday 2nd September line up. Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes have made spectacular progress over the last two years, scoring two gold albums and establishing their reputation as a successful live act by selling out venues across the UK and Australia in their recent tours.

In his first ever appearance in Scotland, MARK CHESNUTT will close out the concert element of the festival on Sunday 3rd September. With four platinum albums, five gold albums, fourteen No. 1 singles and twenty-three Top10 singles to his name, his trademarked voice has shaped the music of today’s country music newcomers and the new country music generation.

Also making their first appearances in the UK, direct from Nashville will come three rising country artists, DAVID RAY, MORGAN FRAZIER and ADLEY STUMP, to provide support over the weekend. All three are regular performers in Nashville and across the US. Over the last twelve months, they have each played several festival and stadium shows supporting top country artists such as Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Tim McGraw, Zac Brown Band, Jake Owen and Thomas Rhett to name but a few.

Adding to the excitement will be the appearance of Glasgow’s own ASHTON LANE, with their full band, on Sunday 3rd September. Nominated twice at the 2016 British Country Music Awards and building on the success of their recent Nashville Heart album, Ashton Lane are establishing a reputation as being the next breakthrough UK country act.

Patrons are able to buy ‘Access All Zones’ passes for the entire weekend or choose between the concerts on each day or just enjoy the core festival. A VIP option is also available for those who want to guarantee a position close to the concert stage.

Located in the centre of the town of Millport, the core festival offers acts that cater for all country music tastes, featuring The Henry Smith Band, Dixie Beaver, Johnny Lee Memphis as Elvis, Jason Hughes as Garth Brooks, Rodeo Stump, Texas Gun, Urban Creek, Stillwater, Red Canyon and more…

Camping is available to pre-book via the MCMF website with sites within easy walking distance of the main festival area.

We are delighted to be able to take the Millport Country Music Festival to a new level this year. We believe that the line up on offer for the concerts and core festival will establish Millport as the must-go festival destination for country music fans in the UK this summer and cement it as one of Scotlands biggest country music festivals.
