Kate Ellis has just released the video for her current single ‘Don’t Lie To Me‘, taken from her forthcoming debut album ‘Carve Me Out‘ – available to pre-order now (Amazon / iTunes) and released this time next week on 2nd June 2017. The video is directed by Yorgo Lykouria, who commented: “I wanted to emphasise and play with the “lie” aspect of the narrative. We decided to film a static pickup truck with fast-cutting, green screen backgrounds of impossible locations – from speeding highway and country roads, to Indian safaris and back in time to 1930s Paris. The whole thing, including band performance footage, is a playful way to show how we, as well as the singer, are all being lied to as the story unfolds. And I can’t help but feel this resonates in a ‘post-truth’ era, when we’re never quite sure what’s real and what’s not. It might just be an unconscious anthem for truth in a fake news world!”
