Bailey Bryan – So Far – EP – Review

By Hannah Compton

Bailey Bryan has been cited as an “Artist You Need to Hear Now” and the “Next Big Thing” by various critics such as Rolling Stone, People, Entertainment Weekly, Huffington Post, The Bobby Bones Show and Perez Hilton.

She released her debut single ‘Own It’ in December last year alongside Country Music’s First Vertical Music Video for the song which premiered across multiple People Platforms Including Snapchat and

Bailey brings an exciting, fresh new voice to country pop music with her sweet sounding, flowering vocals that shine throughout. She has such a natural and sweet nature to her personality, vocals and music which is really lovely to see and hear. Bailey Bryan has a slight sound similar to Michelle Branch blended with her own, very strong sound which makes her music so deliciously infectious.

For most UK country music fans, Bailey was first introduced to them during C2C Festival in March and she left a lasting impression after her stellar performances across the weekend and festival goers have talked about her non stop since.

Being one of the lucky ones at C2C Festival who got to hear sneak peak live versions of her soon to be released songs, I had been eagerly awaiting to hear the studio versions and absolutely love the result.

The So Far EP is country-pop perfection with candy toned, energetic melodies that bring sunshine to your day. The five track EP is a delightful treat until will receive a full album which I cannot wait for but for now I am happily satisfied with the content we have.

The EP begins with already released single Own it which is a fun- lovin, up tempo, feel good, inspirational anthem that will have everyone getting up, dancing around and owning it. The euphoric, cheery beat with its chanting chorus will have you glowing by the end of the track.

Hard Drive Home – a beautiful melodious song with sweet-sounding, vocals that have a slight sound of innocence. The vulnerability of this song is endearing and beautiful.

Scars – a stunning piano driven mid tempo song with a steady pop beat. The song has a nice, inspirational message which will give listeners hope and aspirations.

Life Goes On – Bailey sings with powerful emotion and drive in this song about strength. The song has a feel good melody and is very relatable.

Used To – a gorgeous song with solid chord work from the guitar giving it a nice acoustic feel. Probably my favourite off the EP. The chorus is quite addictive in its simplicity and in general is just a laid back track.

Bailey is a fantastic role model. Her get up and go attitude and relatable lyrics should inspire and drive people to stand up and face the day and she shows them there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Bailey is a ground breaking artist who is set to be the next big thing.

Bailey Bryan’s ‘So Far‘ EP is certainly one to get and you can ‘own it’ on Friday. In the meantime, you can download her single Own It right now.
