BLAKE SHELTON EARNS BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS NOMINATIONS FOR TOP COUNTRY ARTIST & TOP COUNTRY ALBUM

Current Single “Every Time I Hear That Song” Top 25 and Climbing

Though just over four months in, 2017 is already proving an exceptional one for Blake Shelton. The Platinum-selling recording artist added to the year’s successes today with the announcement of his Billboard Music Awards nominations for Top Country Artist and Top Country Album.

It’s been an exciting year – and one of the most gratifying of my career, said Shelton. “I moved to Nashville when I was 18 years old to be a country singer and chase my dreams, but I didn’t have the capacity to dream up this reality. At the beginning and end of every day, it’s because of the fans that we had such great success, so thank you!”

Shelton started off the year by taking over the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck charts for a multi-week reign in January with his smash hit “A Guy With A Girl” from the best-selling country album release of 2016, his Gold-certified If I’m Honest. The country music superstar coupled his radio hit with two wins at this year’s People’s Choice Awards. He became the first country act to take home the award for Favorite Album and earned his second consecutive title for Favorite Male Country Artist.

Shelton’s current single “Every Time I Hear That Song” is following suit as it climbs this week into the Top 25 and continues to rise, already boasting over 11 million on-demand streams. Shelton performed the single last week in Orlando on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he also joined Fallon for a wild ride on his new rollercoaster at Universal Studios.

After recently wrapping his headlining “Doing It To Country Songs” tour, Shelton is ready to tackle the live rounds starting Monday, April 17 as the five-time champion coach on Season 12 of NBC’s The Voice.
