Dan Owen – Made To Love You – Single Review

Dan Owen has recently released his single Made To Love You with a very moving and emotional video.

‘ I had to ask myself If I was right or wrong. But blinded by the making up, That I knew all along.’

When I first went to watch the video to Dan Owen’s Made To Love You, I was halfway through it before realising I had forgotten to turn the sound on. I was so transfixed by the power of the acting and the videos message that I assumed it was meant to be silent before the music kicked in. This shows just how powerful silent actions can be. The video is incredible and raises awareness for domestic violence in a very artistic way!

The song itself is a great listen. With similarities to artists such as James Morrison, Dan Owen really has a talent that deserves a lot of recognition. His lyrics are poetic, emotional and heart wrenching and the melody is simple yet stunning with a slow tempo which sends chills down your spine. The piano throughout gives the song a slight haunting and melancholic feel and the way Dan sings with such powerful emotion, you feel the pain in every word. I love the bridge and the chorus both sonically and lyrically especially.

But your open hands
Will become my enemies

I encourage you to watch the video – as you may find it won’t be as you would it expect it to be. The video is raising awareness to a more overlooked situation of domestic violence.

But if i was made to love
Than how could you bring me pain
And If i was made to love you
Than How come we’re here again
Why does it hurt so bad?
And If i was made to love you
