NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 8, 2016) – Patriotic country stars celebrate Independence Day and ‘Salute to America’ in this latest episode of ‘The Pickup.’

The Grand Ole Opry celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the United Service Organizations (USO), featuring performances from Trace Adkins, Lee Greenwood, Rudy Gatlin and more. Watch clips of exclusive red carpet interviews at the Opry house, where country stars Trace Adkins and Lee Greenwood express their gratitude towards those who fought and continue to fight for our nation. Lyrics to Greenwood’s song “God Bless the USA” can now be found on Coca-Cola cans nationwide and is also a benefit to the USO.

Some of your favorite artists have released new music just in time to honor America’s birthday. LOCASH talks about the excitement surrounding their highly-anticipated new album, ‘The Fighters,’ which released June 17th. Classic country artist Mark Chesnutt makes his fans happy with plans to release all new music. His 15th studio album, ‘Tradition Lives,’ drops on July 8th.

U.S. Navy Seal turned country artist, Pete Scobell, sits with ‘The Pickup’ to talk about how music has changed his life after his service. Scobell says pursuing music has given him a purpose again, like how he felt when he put a uniform on. His latest album and single is titled ‘Walkin A Wire.’

The National Music Council hosted its 33rd annual American Eagle Awards on June 25th, a ceremony which honors long-term contributions to musical culture and education. Take an inside look at Roy Clark’s performance and the honorees at the ceremony, including Vince Gill, the Grand Ole Opry and Emmylou Harris, who is “stunned to be in the company of the people they have honored.”

This episode also honors the great Ralph Stanley, who is credited with popularizing the genre known as bluegrass. See live footage of the bluegrass legend who passed away on June 23rd, 2016.
