This is an independent website that I run alone as well as being a  mother of two young children and being in a part time job. I try my best to post as much as I can, when I can and truly appreciate anyone taking the time to read anything we do! It really means a lot!

What We Do

At Building Our Own Nashville we help country music and other genres such as Americana, Folk, Blues, Jazz and more get a wider range of coverage. We promote and review an artists music, share their videos, review shows, festivals and other events as well as promoting any news and interviewing artists. As well as reviewing music, we also enjoy talking about some of the lifestyle in Nashville such as food, drink and style.

We have a large following from UK Country fans as well as readers from all over the world, in particular USA, France and Germany.

Experience and Coverage

Over the last decade, I have written for various other review sites as well as creating my own website. The Country Music scene is growing rapidly within the UK and I very much enjoy being a part of the process that helps get the genre more coverage.

About Me

My name is Hannah Compton and I am a fan of Country Music and live in the UK. My love for Country Music began in 2007 when I had the CMA Awards on the TV in the background and was instantly taken in by Taylor Swift singing ‘Our Song’ and Carrie Underwood singing ‘Just A Dream’. After that night I discovered many other Country Artists and fell in love with the genre and Nashville. One of my favourtie artists is Miranda Lambert as well as Carrie Underwood, Taylor, Little Big Town, Zac Brown Band, Gloriana – the list just goes on and on.

I have been lucky enough to visit Nashville twice – both during CMA Festival – once in 2010 and then 2014. I hope to return again one day.

I try to go to as many concerts and festivals as I can and hope to review them as well as reviewing Albums and more. My words are my own and I like to write from a fans perspective as well as a professional one and when I write about a show, I try to write it in such a way that you feel like you were there.
